With 900 species of birds, 1,500 species of trees, and 10,000 species of plants. Panama is a tropical paradise for nature lovers. While in the Canal Zone we will stay at the Canopy Tower and Gamboa River Lodge in Soberania National Park, where on excursions into the rain forest, and from the Tower itself, we could see specialties like Black-chested Jay, Blue Cotinga, and Green Shrike-Vireo, as we feast our eyes on innumerable trogons, puffbirds, aracari, toucans, parrots, manakins, motmots, and tanagers. The tours will also visit the Caribbean side of the isthmus for its avian specialities. This tour will also spend a few days in the highlands of Chiriqui, exploring the cloudforests of Volcan Baru National Park, and the trails above Boquete, looking for Resplendent Quetzal, Sulphur-winged Parakeet, Scintillant Hummingbird, Silvery-throated Jay, Flame-throated and Black-cheeked Warblers.
